Coloring Books and Pencil Sharpeners

So my friend bought herself a coloring book and decided to color while she was at my house. So of course I got jealous and had to go buy my own. I was very lucky to find a Handy Manny coloring book that is totally awesome. Today I colored a picture of some pliers named squeeze! Katie and I also had to go on a pencil sharpener quest as well in order to find a quality sharpener. Just a word of warning, the cheap ones really are not what I would define as quality. Once I got through half of my pencil and it still was not sharp I decided that it just did not qualify. So we ventured the whole 3 min. drive to the local staples to continue our search. I ended up buying one of the crank ones that suction to a table. It reminds me of those wonderful days sharpening my money pencils in elementary school. Anyways the pencil sharpener did not prove itself right away, but it works now after some good breaking in. Now I have pencils sharp enough to cause some serious damage. Sorry this is kind of a random post, but I guess its just a random day!!!

Spring Break Update!

So I have been enjoying the last week so much considering it is the wonderful time of the year for students called spring break. A whole week free from classes and in my case lots of kids! (I still love kids, this comment just refers to how nice a break is sometimes). No worries Chelley and Josh my nephew's and niece do not count! I probably won't make it home to visit family this week though. Monday we had a huge storm, it snowed for 24 hours and dumped about 1 1/2 feet of snow on us. Needless to say my roommate and I left only to venture to the store for ingredients for her yummy ham cauliflower soup! So most of Monday and Tuesday consisted of watching movies, and reading. I strongly recommend The Secret Life of Bee's it is sad but excellent! We have also started watching the Lord of the Rings Trilogy again! Today will probably be spent reading the fourth Harry Potter and watching more movies! I needed some time to relax before school starts again. Tomorrow and Saturday will not be as relaxing, but they will be exciting. I am going to Provo with two of my favorite work buddies Camille and Brionne! We are going to the Utah Early Childhood Conference on Saturday, but we will be taking off tomorrow for some Friday night fun.

Birthdays

Well it is almost my birthday, and it feels extremely weird to almost be 23. My life may not be exactly what I thought it would be five years ago, but I like it. I am so glad to have figured out what I want to do, it may be some what stressful at times but I have a passion for it. I also found a place that I love living. I know that Logan is an hour and a half away from my family, but it really feels like home right now. I love going to school as well, even though I am feeling the college senioritis so much right now. I also have great friends, I have met some great people in my college life. One of the most exciting things I have going for me right now is moving to a new apartment my roommate Phaedra. This means that I will be able to get away from any stressful situations that are currently going on. Let me just say, people that talk about you on the phone without saying your name must think you are stupid to not guess who they are talking about. Anyways, I am looking forward to having two windows in the kitchen!!!

This weekend I am home to spend some time with my family. I have not spent a lot of time home since Christmas. It has been somewhat busy. Anyways I am excited to see my niece and nephews as well as my brothers and of course my sister-in-laws (yes mom and dad I am happy to see you too). I love my family, even my extended family. Tonight is the Jensen family party and I am so excited. I love all of my aunts!!! If we are lucky my Aunt Eva will make my Grandma's famous apple squares.

The Good Ole' Times!!!

So I have been getting in touch with a lot of people that I have not talked to for a while and it has been really great. I finally got a letter from Nadine in Thailand and I was just excited (I got a bonus too when I saw the very exciting envelope that the letter came in!). Sometimes I am not so good at keeping in touch with everyone, that is something I have really got to work on. Life has calmed down a little bit and I feel more prepared to manage it all. I am so grateful to my professor Kaelin because she just makes my day and made me feel like it was completely fine to extend one more semester. Today though I began realizing how long I have been in school. My friend Amy just got back from her mission and today she talked so I went to see her. There were a lot of people that I had not seen for a long time, and they were asking me what I was up to. I felt weird to have everyone ask me if I was done yet and then have to say no I was supposed to be done this semester but we all know how that turned out. I am really excited to see my family tonight at Jill's birthday party, I miss them so much. I have been a super family member and have not really been home much since Christmas. So I plan to make up for that by coming home for a whole weekend over the 20th to the 22nd. Yay!!!
I have to say though that I am so glad for the gospel in my life, it has been a great comfort to me and I hope that it can really be of comfort to some others that really need it. Yesterday a family friend died from cancer and it was hard to hear it. She was a wonderful lady who made an effort to make everyone feel so special (including me and my mom). I loved her and am glad that we know that she will be with her family again!

Yay for a Break (If you can call it that)

So I did it, I dropped my class! It worked out really well when I did not have to write my paper and take the test for that class this week! I just feel like I need this time for myself to be able to put my efforts into my job, into my thesis, family and friends, and hopefully myself as well. I am currently at work, just taking a little break (I used to be in class right now). I am glad that today is going a little bit better, yesterday was like the preschool day from hell (sorry there was no other way to describe it). Just overall I was having a really hard time. The end of it seemed to calm down a little so when I left for home I was feeling much better about things. Today is much better! I really love teaching, sometimes it is a huge challange but it is so worth it to me! Anyways I need to go pick up some kids!

Overwhelmed

I have had a lot of people ask me if I am ok lately. I have been feeling like I have so much going on that I can't do it all. Having everyone be so concerned has had me step back and really think about making some change. For a couple of weeks I have been wishing I could give something up because I just feel like in order to graduate this spring I would have so much to do. So I am contemplating whether I should drop one of my intense classes. This would mean that I would not graduate until the fall but I just feel like if I try to finish everything now I am just going to feel completely overwhelmed and not be able to do things the way that I would like. I also feel like I have been kind of drained over the past year and I need sometime to take care of myself. I still going to have stuff to do, but I will feel like I can do it! Anyways I still need to talk to my professor but this is probably what is going to happen.

Back to Life

This is going to be another interesting semester for me because I only have 2 classes. Last semester I technically only had 2 classes, but one of them took up at least 5 hours of my day everyday so it seemed like I had a lot more to do. This semester though I only have one class during the day and one that is once a week at night. So I have moved into the working world, and will begin working full time tomorrow. I am glad to be moving into a more financially stable situation (hopefully) than I have for a long time. I know that I still will feel rather busy though because one of my classes I actually have to worry about and I am doing an honors contract in that class (meaning I choose to do honors so I have to do extra work in the class, fun huh?). My night class though is a breeze so I am not really worried. I also will be sending out the survey for my honors thesis. I hope that it got approved and that everything will go ok.

Here is an update on our good friend Ferdita. About 30 min. after my last post I looked outside and this is what I found. It was a very tragic loss (lol). I am grateful that she did go before this this weekend though because it absolutely freezing up here.

Winter Break!!!

I am really not ready to go back to school on Monday. It has been a very nice break though. Christmas was a lot of fun and I was so glad that all of my family was able to come over despite the snow. My brother Peter and his family ended up staying the night because the weather was so bad. In Logan Katie, Phaedra, and I have been having a lot of fun just hanging out. Here are some of the pictures we took, so you can see what we have been doing. This is our tree that was borrowed from my sister-in-law! It turned out so pretty, and my roommate says it looks like it should be in a store window!

Here is another picture of our tree.

This is our snow woman that we made. Her name is Ferdita Rosalita Scallywag!!!

This is Phaedra and me after we put the finishing touches on her. Her hair is yarn, her eyes are scrapbooking flowers, her dress was colored pink with pink lemonade (yes she did smell very good), and she had berries on her hat and dress. I can tell you that being in preschool so much make life very interesting at home (Thats how we came up with the idea to color her dress).

This last picture is an update of our friend six days after she was created. As you can tell life has been very cruel to her and she now looks like she is Moaning Myrtle's BFF!

Tomorrow we will be knocking her down. It is very sad.
