Lazy Times
Since finals were done last week I have been enjoying a much needed break. Not only do I not have any school but I don't have any work until later on this month. So basically I have been extremely lazy. I can tell that this semester took a toll on me when my patience was wearing very thin with the kids at the preschool. (No worries I didn't smack anyone around, even though I did want to scream a few times). So this past week I have tried to take it somewhat easy. I guess I have not been completely lazy since me and my roommate Phaedra had a little dinner party at our house on Tuesday. There were only six of us there but it was a lot of fun. One goal I had for the holidays was to get more sleep. The problem with that is now I am staying up later, and I seem to have an inability to really sleep in. So I am not really succeeding at that goal. I did read a really great book the other day. It is called The Tale of Despereaux! It is a children's book but it was excellent. It is a very quick read so it took me no time at all. There is a movie out now based on the book and I am so excited to see it. It really is a good quality children's book, plus it is a Newbery Award! Anyways I just wanted to let everyone know how much I have been enjoying this wonderful break.

Finals Week!!!
It is finals week and I am a very lucky person because it is going to be a breeze. I usually don't have a lot of really hard finals that I have to worry about but this year would be the easiest so far. The only thing that is not so fun is that I have a total of 10 hours of cleaning that I have to do between the Children's House and the Lab this week. It is not going to be very fun but it is better than studying. I only have one final which is going to be ridiculously easy considering the fact that it consists of all the questions from the quizzes we have done previously just in a different order. It is almost pointless to take the final but oh well. Anyways, my life is not very exciting at this point, so I don't really have anything exciting to share.

Busy, Busy, Busy
So I thought I would post really quick and say what I am up to. I am trying to get my lesson plan pulled together which includes (ok you ready, take a deep breath): making name tags, newsletters, getting songs, books, clip art, typing up the partial plan, typing up the long plan(about 7 pages long), and the list keeps going on. On top of that I have been asked to do an activity for enrichment night, I am going to help them make notebooks! I am excited, but a little overwhelmed, the night we will be doing it will be the first day that I am head teaching. I have no idea what I was thinking. Anyways I am off to the library now to work on getting books!

So I am getting ready for my next head teaching week for preschool and I am starting to freak out a little bit. My theme is "Taking Care of My World", and I am going to touch on Recycling and conservation for a lot of the time. I am really excited about the activities that I will be doing, at least the ones that I know I am going to do. I think the biggest thing that is scarring me most is that it is not a theme that is done a lot so I still have some uncharted territory. Anyways, I am sure I will be fine, I just need to stop freaking out and get some stuff done.

Halloween
So I actually went through a spook alley yesterday, only because my brother was in it. I usually avoid them and haunted houses because I just have never been a big fan of people getting in your face. Anyways, It was so fun to see my nephews all dressed up. I did not get a chance to see Noelle all dressed up because the costume came off right after she feel and got hurt. I also did not get to see Drew as Batman which was sad too. My other nephews were so fun to see! Brixen was Bumble Bee from Transformers, Gavin was Sulley from Monsters INC., Alex was Batman, Oakley was Mike from Monsters INC. (he was waddling by the end of the night because the pouch on the front of his costume was so full), and Derek was Buzz Lightyear. It was so fun to be able to trick-or-treat with them. I just love being an Aunt! I am so glad that I got to come home. My costume was a little ridiculous but thats ok. Anyways, I have got to run Gavin and Oakley are over visiting while Nate and Dad clean up all the leaves outside.

Preschool, Preschool, Preschool
Ok, so I cannot believe that it is the end of October already, I seriously feel like I have not accomplished much. I attribute this to the fact that I basically live and breath preschool now. Can I just tell everyone that being a preschool teacher in the Child Development Lab at USU is so so so hard. Well not really hard, but it probably consumes 99.9% of my day. Even when I get home at night and want to get some thing done I am just too tired to even focus. If I could I would probably go to bed every night by at least ten. Last week I was in charge of our construction week, it was a lot of fun but so much work. After I finished my 14 page evaluation I have felt a little more relaxed. I am so excited for tomorrow because I get to come home!!!!!!!!! I have not been home for a few weeks, and I think I have been home for Halloween in a couple of years. Because everything has been so hectic lately I feel like all of my nephews and my niece are growing up so much, and I am missing it all. I have to say I am a big fan of blogspot now because it allows me some way to see how some of them are doing.

I am smart!!!
So I was able to get a picture of me up on this blog so yay I am smart. Oh I thought people might want to know why my blogs name is LopitaSkippita, all I have to say is read Skippy Jon Jones!!!!!!!! It is my ultimate favorite kids book and it makes me laugh so hard. Anyways I have decided either I need to get a new camara or I need to use mine so that I can take pictures and post them. I really need a picture of all my nephews and my neice together. That would be so exciting! So I came home for the weekend for the first time since school started. I am excited but kind of sad because it is a short visit. My sister-in-law Joanna just had a baby so I am an Auntie for the 8th time. His name is Lucas (Luke) Wallace Jensen. Hopefully I can get a picture of him soon! Anyways I am so glad this week is kind of over, it was my first time head teaching in the child development lab. Our Theme was My Body, and it was a pretty good week over all, but it is so much work. This has been a hectic semester going from the Children's House to the lab preschool but it has also been a lot of fun. I don't feel like a student anymore since I only have one real class where I actually have to sit down and listen to a lecture. Anyways, I am just rambling!
